SchoonardBryan C. Schoonard is an experienced severe weather and storm chaser from St. Petersburg, FL and a native Floridian who has lived in Florida his whole life.

Bryan's weather experience includes interning with WFTV Channel 9 Eyewitness News Severe Weather Team for almost three years under Chief Meteorologist Tom Terry. Areas of interest and study during his internship include Doppler radar, satellite interpretation, severe weather warnings, and tropical weather forecasting. The internship also gave Bryan the opportunity to work with the National Weather Service in Melbourne, FL where he ran severe weather simulations and tornado simulations.

Bryan has experienced severe weather close up to include; an F2 Tornado, the great hail storm of March 25, 1992, the 1993 Super storm, Hurricane Erin 1995, Hurricane Charley 2004, Hurricane Frances 2004, Hurricane Jeanne 2004, and Tropical Storm Fay 2008. In 2004, he chased Hurricane Frances with world famous tornado chaser Jeff Piotrowski.

Bryan's expertise is in Doppler radar, satellite interpretation, and remote sensing equipment.

jscott_smHurricaneJunky is a severe weather and storm chaser based in North Fort Myers, FL.

He is a Native Floridian who comes from a family of hurricane veterans. One or more of his family members have been thru: The Great Hurricane of 1926, 1928 Okeechobee Hurricane, 1935 Labor Day Hurricane, 1941 Miami Hurricane, 1947 Miami Hurricane 1950 Hurricane King, 1960 Hurricane Donna, 1964 Hurricane Cleo, 1965 Hurricane Betsy, 1979 Hurricane David, 1992 Hurricane Andrew, 2000 Hurricane Gordon, 2004 Hurricane Charley and 2005 Hurricane Wilma.

As a child he was always enthralled with hurricanes and severe weather of all sorts and his passion for weather has only grown stronger over the years. He has experienced (in some way) 1992 Hurricane Andrew, 1985 No-Name Storm, 1993 Super Storm, 2004 Hurricane Charley, 2004 Hurricane Frances, 2004 Hurricane Jeanne, 2005 Hurricane Wilma and 2008 TS Faye. Other side swipes, near misses and no-name storms came and went as well.

He is an experienced tropical weather tracker and a certified NWS Skywarn storm spotter.

A Davis Weather Instruments Vantage Pro 6152 records the weather conditions occurring outside his home.

His expertise is in business and technology but his fascination with weather and enthusiasm for storm chasing are what prompted the founding of The Xtreme Weather Team and the creation of this website.

MattPhelps01

Matt Phelps is a severe weather and storm chaser based in Purdue, Indiana. He has always had a fascination for extreme weather and is now able to pursue his dreams of chasing some of nature's most violent storms as a member of The Xtreme Weather Team.

He is 19 years old, a trained NWS storm spotter, and is currently working on getting his SkyWarn certification. His work out in the field during the May 2010 tornado outbreak was spectacular!

His location puts Matt in a great location to chase severe storms.

Spring/Summer 2011 will be a very busy time for Matt and the rest of the team.
