Hurricane Earl 7AM Update Sept. 3rd. 2010...Earl Outlook And The Rest Of The Tropics.

Synopsis:
As of 5AM Hurricane Earl had max. winds of 105mph and minimum central pressure of 955mb. Earl is a Cat 2 storm this morning and gradually weakening will occur as Earl moves off to the NNE today. Earl should approach the Extreme SE New England Coast as a Cat 1 storm tonite and then move towards Southern Nova Scotia Saturday morning as a Cat 1/TS undergoing Extratropical transition. Impacts along the Mid-Atlantic coast today from Maryland, Delaware, and New Jersey will be confined to right along the coast. We could still see a Tropical storm winds gust or two in these areas and rainfall of about 1" to maybe 2" especially right along the beaches. Coastal affects will be the main threat with beach erosion, minor coastal flooding, and rough surf. Around 1ft. surge is likely in these areas. The greatest impacts for the rest of Earl's treck will be in Extreme SE New England near Cape Cod, Nantucket, and Martha's Vineyard. These areas could see winds near Hurricane Force later tonite as Earl passes about 75 miles to the East of Cape Cod. 2ft to 4ft. surge is likely in these areas. Along Extreme E. L.I, SE Conn. and Southern R.I. winds could gust to TS Force. As Earl moves East of New England overnite tonite and tomorrow morning the wind field will expand a bit as Earl begins to make his transitions to an Extratropical system. This could bring TS Force winds to Eastern N.H and most of Maine. Earl looks to make his final landfall across Southern Nova Scotia Saturday morning. Those persons living in a Hurricane Watch or Warning area need to make final preps for Hurricane conditions. The rest of the tropics are actually fairly quiet today. We have a weak TS Fiona that will move across Bermuda Saturday morning. Gaston is now a Remnant Low but he will most likely regenerate as he moves Westward and could threaten the Leeward Island by the middle of next week.
