Today, as an upper level low and trailing cold front push across the plains and Midwest, there are a few winter storm warnings out for Nebraska and Wyoming, with the potential of up to 10 inches of snow in some locales.

.A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL MOVE INTO THE 4 CORNERS REGION EARLY
TODAY THEN MOVE EAST ACROSS THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS THIS EVENING. THE
STORM WILL PRODUCE SNOW OVER MAINLY FAR SOUTHEAST WYOMING AND THE
SOUTHERN NEBRASKA PANHANDLE THIS MORNING BEFORE GRADUALLY

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHEYENNE HAS ISSUED A WINTER
STORM WARNING FOR SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM MST THIS
AFTERNOON. THE WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.
* TIMING...THE SNOW WILL CONTINUE THROUGH MID AFTERNOON.
* TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...5 TO 7 INCHES.
* SNOWFALL REPORTS...AS OF 915 AM...KIMBALL HAD 4 INCHES AND PINE
BLUFFS 5 INCHES. SIDNEY HAD AN INCH OF SNOW ON THE GROUND.
* WINDS/VISIBILITIES...NORTHEASTERLY WINDS WILL BE BETWEEN 5 AND
15 MPH DURING THE EVENT. VISIBILITIES WILL BE LOWERED TO ONE
MILE OR LESS IN THE SNOW.
* IMPACTS...PRIMARILY TO TRAVEL. ROADS WILL BE SLICK WITH POOR
VISIBILITIES.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER
CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW

As we get closer to the Thanksgiving Holiday, many of us will either be traveling or have others traveling to us. There looks to be a possible cold snap the week of Thanksgiving, maybe giving some areas their first snow of the season, and perhaps some brutally cold temperatures.
