Tropical Storm Matthew will *eventually* head north, very confident on that!

Tropical Storm Matthew  is moving towards the west at a good clip. The storm continues to become better organized. I see no reason for this not to be a Hurricane by Saturday. The NHC doesn’t forecast it, but does have Hurricane Watches to be on the safe side. I feel the NHC actually has a good handle of the storm. As a low cuts off form the jet stream in a few days, this should more then be enough to take whatever Matthew is in a few days, up and into Florida. Folks on the Peninsula need to make sure they are prepared for a Hurricane, not saying it will be one, but always be cautious. I feel this will be a Hurricane, possibly a major. Those waters have not been touched since Alex formed back in late June. So much heat, something needs to break. I don’t have a run yet, but I’ll be making one soon, as some people like to call it “REED Forecast Model Run” :P .

Lisa is out there, and will stay out there. I don’t see any new systems forming until Matthew heads north of the Caribbean, where the wake of the storm may spur things up. Hurricane Season is not by any means over and we should have some late activity, possibly into December.

My forecast run as of 4:21 p.m.

Definitely one to watch, I don't have a good feeling on this one. Both the EURO and GFS point TD15 right at me here in Palm Coast.

  • Alberto headed away from land; TD 2-E a concern for Mexico
Tropical Storm Alberto continues to struggle against strong upper level winds out of the west-southwest that are creating a very high 40 knots of wind shear over the storm. These winds are driving dry, continental air into Alberto, keeping its heavy thunderstorm activity quite limited. While the storm is being helped by the fact it is crossing the warm 27°C (81°F) waters of Gulf Stream today, this is not enough...
  • Alberto weakens, brings light rains to Georgia and South Carolina
Tropical Storm Alberto continues to move slowly to the west-southwest off the coast of South Carolina, and is bringing light rains to the coasts northern Georgia and southern South Carolina. Recent radar and satellite loops show that Alberto has weakened late this morning, and has lost most of its heavy thunderstorms. Upper level winds out of the west-southwest are creating a moderate 15 - 20 knots of wind shear over...
